The OJ Bass Boost and DJ Squiggy met in a storm drain after hurricane Harvey rescuing ducks. They began living together after discovering their homes had been destroyed in the storm and subsequently became best friends. After revisiting the storm drain that led the two to each other they heard a faint noise but this time it was not ducks. Their curiosity led them through the underground tunnels where they began to hear music bouncing off the concrete walls and soon found themselves in the middle of an illicit sewer rave. It was love at first sight as the two familiarized themselves with the scene and soon began producing music of their own, forming the duo Life Underground as a homage to the place where it all began. After gaining popularity, they saught to revolutionize the genre and inspiration struck one summer night when The OG and squiggs were mixing beats outside and decided to incorporate the sounds of nature into their beats, creating a new sound fans dubbed 'biotech' as a mixture of biomusic and techno.
